AKSU Acting VC Lauded for Securing Law Faculty Accreditation

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has commended the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), Professor Otoabasi Akpan, for securing accreditation for the Faculty of Law.

The Governor praised Professor Akpan's commitment and leadership, stating that the achievement is a testament to his dedication and administrative excellence.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) recently approved AKSU's Faculty of Law, allowing the university to commence a full-time LL.B programme in the 2025/2026 academic session. The faculty will comprise three departments: Private and Property Law, Jurisprudence and International Law, and Commercial and Industrial Law .

Governor Eno emphasized the importance of character, integrity, and creativity, urging graduates to apply their knowledge for societal value. Professor Akpan has overseen significant developments at AKSU, including the establishment of the Faculties of Communication and Media Studies and Computing and Information Technology .
