TASFUED, GMind AI Explore Partnership on Artificial Intelligence in Education

The Management of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education, Ijagun, TASFUED, has expressed its readiness to explore a strategic collaboration with GMind AI and GMind Academy in artificial intelligence, AI, teacher capacity development, research, innovation, and digital transformation in education.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Samuel Oladipo, disclosed this when the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of GMind AI, Dr. Success Ojo, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the University.

Dr. Ojo was accompanied by Dr. David Oke, Trade and Business Consultant at GMind Academy, and Mrs. Linda Adetoye, CART Project Lead at GMind Academy.

During the engagement, Dr. Ojo presented the vision of GMind AI and GMind Academy as initiatives focused on developing an AI-ready education ecosystem. She explained that GMind AI provides safe, curriculum-aligned AI tools designed to support schools, teachers and learners, while GMind Academy equips educators and school leaders with practical AI skills, certifications and hands-on experience in areas including lesson planning, content creation, personalised learning, assessment and school transformation.

Responding to the presentation, the Vice-Chancellor noted that the vision of GMind AI and GMind Academy aligned with TASFUED’s strategic direction of preparing educators who can respond effectively to emerging challenges and opportunities in the education sector.

Prof. Oladipo noted that, as a specialised University of Education, TASFUED has a fundamental responsibility to prepare the next generation of educators capable of contributing meaningfully to the transformation of Nigeria’s education system.

According to him, the University is deliberately moving beyond certificate-driven education by exposing students to vocational and entrepreneurship education, practical skills, creativity, innovation and opportunities to create value and pursue sustainable livelihoods.

He observed that artificial intelligence was increasingly influencing teaching and learning, the creation of educational resources, assessment, research and institutional administration, stressing that the issue was no longer whether AI would influence education, but how educators and institutions would understand, apply and govern the technology responsibly.

"TASFUED is committed to producing graduates who would not merely use technology but would become innovative educators capable of identifying educational challenges, harnessing appropriate technologies and developing solutions that improve teaching and learning outcomes," Prof. Oladipo added.

He identified potential areas of collaboration with GMind AI and GMind Academy to include artificial intelligence in education, teacher capacity development, professional certification, curriculum-aligned AI adoption, research and innovation, assessment, personalised learning, digital transformation, and practical exposure for staff and students.

The Vice-Chancellor consequently invited GMind AI to formally submit its proposal to the University Management for consideration, noting that such a step would provide a framework for examining areas of mutual interest and possible collaboration.

Prof. Oladipo emphasised that the transformation of education could not be achieved by universities alone, but required collaboration among academia, technology innovators, educators, industry and other stakeholders committed to preparing the next generation for an increasingly technology-driven world.

He appreciated Dr. Ojo, Dr. Oke, Mrs. Adetoye and the entire GMind team for the visit and for sharing their vision on the application of AI to education.

The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the University's commitment to producing educators who can teach, innovate, create, adapt and lead, stressing that transforming educators would ultimately strengthen the education system and contribute to Nigeria's development.
