FUL E-Librarian Presents Research, Chairs Panel at University of Basel, Switzerland

Danjuma Saidu, E-Librarian at the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) and Adjunct Staff in the Department of Library and Information Science, is representing the University at the SGAS VAD 2026 Conference on African Perspectives on Global Transformations at the University of Basel, Switzerland.

As part of his participation at the international conference, Saidu presented his research paper titled “Oral Historiography as Theory: Reimagining African Studies Beyond Eurocentric Frameworks.”

The conference panel brought together scholars from different parts of the world to engage in discussions on African philosophies, indigenous knowledge systems, oral traditions and the future of knowledge production about Africa.

Saidu’s participation provided an opportunity to place African perspectives and scholarship within broader international academic conversations, while contributing to critical discussions on the approaches used to study and understand Africa.

His engagement at the University of Basel also highlights the participation of Federal University Lokoja scholars in international academic platforms and their contribution to contemporary debates on African scholarship and knowledge production.
