FUL VC Gifts Staff Member N2.5m Electric Motorcycle for Dedication to Duty

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, has presented an electric motorcycle worth N2.5 million to Mr. Bala Ibrahim, a staff member in his office, in recognition of his long-standing dedication, commitment to duty and hard work.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, has presented an electric motorcycle worth N2.5 million to Mr. Bala Ibrahim, a staff member in his office, in recognition of his long-standing dedication, commitment to duty and hard work.

The Vice-Chancellor made the surprise presentation on Monday, August 10, 2026, in front of the University Senate Building in the presence of other staff members.

The gesture was described as part of Professor Ibileye’s efforts to promote staff welfare and ensure that members of the University community remain motivated to discharge their responsibilities effectively. He described the motorcycle as a reward for dedication and a personal effort to ease transportation for the staff member.

Following the presentation, Professor Ibileye rode around the Senate Building with Mr. Ibrahim on the new motorcycle, creating an atmosphere of excitement and admiration among staff members who witnessed the occasion.

The moment also highlighted the Vice-Chancellor’s humility, selflessness and commitment to staff motivation.

Some of the staff who witnessed the presentation described the gesture as well-deserved and a significant morale booster. They included Dr. Tosin Olagunju, Director, Directorate of Strategic Communication and Corporate Documentation; Engr. Dr. Monday Abutu Idakwo, Director, Centre for Safety Management; Mr. Abdulhakeen Abdulrauf Ajao, Deputy Registrar and Head of SERVICOM Unit/Focal Officer; and Mr. Sylvester Sunday Agada, Executive ICT and Digital Systems Officer in the Vice-Chancellor’s Office.

While congratulating the beneficiary, the staff described the initiative as a welcome development for the University and commended the Vice-Chancellor for his ingenuity, generosity and strong commitment to staff welfare, which they said he had consistently demonstrated since assuming office.

They maintained that the administration had earned the love and respect of members of the University community within a short period, adding that the Vice-Chancellor’s positive disposition towards staff welfare had rekindled hope, reignited passion for work, improved job satisfaction and encouraged productivity among the University’s workforce.

Other staff members from the Vice-Chancellor’s Office who were present during the brief presentation ceremony included Mr. Chris Yahaya, in charge of Digital Media and Communication; Mr. Yakpe Tsebam, Personal Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor; Mr. Adamu Abdullahi, Personal Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor on Community Engagement and Resource Mobilisation; and Mr. Fabulous Manji Cishak, Assistant Registrar, among other colleagues.

In a message of appreciation, Mr. Bala Ibrahim expressed profound gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for the gift and his fatherly love towards him.

The beneficiary also thanked his colleagues for their support, encouragement and goodwill shown to him during the presentation.
