As his five-year tenure draws to a close, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, received a high-level delegation from the University’s Christian community on a valedictory courtesy visit.

Led by Pastor Dr. Femi Ogungbemi, the delegation officially congratulated the Vice-Chancellor on the successful completion of his term, highlighting the atmosphere of mutual respect and religious harmony that defined his administration.

During the meeting, Pastor Ogungbemi lauded Professor Abdul Rahman for his "inclusive and tolerant" leadership style. He noted that under the current administration:

Freedom of Worship: Members of the Christian community enjoyed an unrestricted and supportive environment for spiritual activities.

Peaceful Coexistence: FULafia maintained a stable academic calendar aided by the lack of religious or communal friction.

In his response, Professor Abdul Rahman expressed deep appreciation for the visit, reiterating that religious tolerance is a non-negotiable prerequisite for academic progress and national peace.

He further urged the community to extend the same level of "unalloyed support and unity" to his successor, Professor Mohammed Isa Kida, to ensure the university's continued upward trajectory.

The visit concluded with the presentation of a symbolic gift to the Vice-Chancellor, marking a final gesture of appreciation from the FULafia Christian Community before the official handover ceremony.
