FULafia Holds Maiden Staff Leadership Training Workshop to Strengthen Institutional Performance

The two-day workshop, themed “Strengthening University Staff Leadership Capacity for Optimum Performance in the 21st Century,” took place at the MIS Hall, Permanent Site Campus of the university and drew participation from both academic and non-academic staff.
Speaking on the theme, the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, Prof. Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, delivered a paper titled “Effective Communication and Team Management within the University System.” He emphasized the importance of communication, teamwork, and leadership competence in modern university administration, noting that higher institutions must adapt to evolving operational demands of the 21st century.
The Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs), Prof. Adofu Ilemona, described leadership development as central to achieving institutional growth and academic excellence. He stated that the workshop was designed to equip staff with administrative competence, leadership skills, and professional ethics required in a modern university environment.
The Ag. Director of the Centre for Leadership Studies and convener of the workshop, Dr. Attah Michael Abashi, said the initiative was intended to strengthen strategic thinking among staff and improve overall workplace performance across the institution.

The programme brought together academic and non-academic staff members of the university for capacity-building and professional development sessions.
