The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) recently hosted its 4th Annual International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI), bringing together academics, researchers, and professionals to explore AI's potential in addressing Nigeria's challenges and driving national development.
The two-day conference, themed "Artificial Intelligence: Blessing or Curse to National Development in Nigeria?" featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, and presentations on AI applications in various sectors, including education, healthcare, finance, and governance.
In his opening remarks, FULafia's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, emphasized the importance of critically examining AI's advantages and challenges to maximize its applications in Nigeria's economy.
The conference provided a platform for stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions, share research findings, and propose solutions to shape the future of AI in Nigeria. Prominent speakers and participants attended the event, which was held at the Malam Adamu Adamu Multi-purpose Halls and Offices Complex on the University's Permanent Site Campus.
