FULAFIA Professor, Adebayo Sirajudeen Advocates for Arabic Studies to Address Contemporary Challenges

Professor Adebayo Sirajudeen, a renowned expert in Arabic Literary Criticism and Afrabic Historiography at Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), has emphasized the significance of Arabic language and studies in addressing humanity's challenges.

During his 19th professorial inaugural lecture, Sirajudeen highlighted the untapped resources in Arabic studies that can provide solutions to contemporary challenges, including globalization and digital technology. He stressed the need to identify Arabic manuscripts related to indigenous science and knowledge systems, particularly those belonging to African Arabic scholars.

Sirajudeen also advocated for increased enrollment in Arabic studies programs to produce more researchers and address the shortage of experts in the field.

The Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, commended Sirajudeen for his contributions to Arabic studies and his inaugural lecture, which marked a milestone as the first from the Department of Arabic Studies at FULafia.
