Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) has recorded a major institutional milestone following the attainment of 100 per cent full accreditation status for all academic programmes assessed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in 2025.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, described the achievement as a defining moment in the university’s academic growth trajectory and a strong validation of its commitment to quality education and institutional excellence.

He expressed deep appreciation to the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, under whose leadership the accreditation exercise was conducted, noting that the success reflects continuity and strategic planning in university governance.

Prof. Kida also commended the immediate past Director of Academic Planning and current Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs), Prof. Ilemona Adofu, for his coordination, resilience, and technical leadership during the accreditation process.

The Vice-Chancellor further acknowledged the contributions of deans of faculties and heads of departments, describing their cooperation and collective effort as central to achieving full accreditation across all programmes presented to the NUC.

According to him, the outcome reflects sustained investment in human capital development, infrastructure upgrades, and strict adherence to regulatory quality benchmarks set by the NUC.

Prof. Kida reaffirmed the university’s commitment to consolidating the gains of the accreditation success. He stated that FULAFIA will continue to strengthen teaching, research, and community service delivery in line with global academic standards.

He further emphasized that maintaining academic quality remains a non-negotiable priority, as the institution positions itself for greater competitiveness within Nigeria’s higher education system and beyond.
