FULafia seeks stronger AI, digital transformation partnerships at South Africa Forum

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, has reaffirmed the University's commitment to leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation and international partnerships to strengthen teaching, research and institutional development.

Speaking virtually at a higher education and business engagement in South Africa, Kida commended Learning Curve and Adobe Acrobat for bringing together university leaders to discuss AI, innovation and digital transformation.

Although he participated remotely, the University was represented physically by the Director of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence, Dr Mohammed Abubakar Mohammed.

Kida said the engagement would expose FULafia to global best practices in responsible, human-centred AI, governance, AI literacy and sustainable institutional adoption, aligning with the University's vision of building an ethical AI ecosystem.

He noted that visits to the University of South Africa (UNISA), the University of the Witwatersrand and Tshwane University of Technology would provide valuable insights into AI implementation, ICT infrastructure and governance, while fostering research collaboration, academic exchanges, curriculum development and capacity building across African universities.
