FULafia to Hold 44th Inaugural Lecture on African Literary Scholarship and Egyptology
The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has announced plans to host its 44th Inaugural Lecture, with Prof. Mallam Al-Bishak of the Department of English and Literary Studies, Faculty of Arts, set to deliver the lecture.
The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has announced plans to host its 44th Inaugural Lecture, with Prof. Mallam Al-Bishak of the Department of English and Literary Studies, Faculty of Arts, set to deliver the lecture.
Prof. Al-Bishak, a distinguished scholar of African literature and specialist in literary Egyptology, will present a lecture titled: “Egyptology, Egyptomania and Khemetology: Literature and the Black African Literary Masters of Homer, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, etc.”
The inaugural lecture is scheduled as follows:
- Date: Wednesday, June 24, 2026
- Time: 2:00 p.m.
- Venue: MIS Multi-Purpose Hall, FULafia Permanent Site Campus, Lafia
According to the university, the lecture is expected to offer fresh perspectives on the relationship between ancient Egyptian civilisation, literature, and the contributions of Black African intellectual traditions to classical scholarship.

Members of the academic community and the general public have been invited to attend the event.
