FULafia VC and Alumni President Champion Staff Training to Boost Student Welfare
The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, has underscored the importance of continuous professional development for staff responsible for students’ welfare, describing them as critical stakeholders in creating a conducive learning environment.
Kida made the remarks at the opening of a one-day capacity-building training organised by the Federal University of Lafia Alumni Association (FULAA) for staff of the Students’ Affairs Unit as part of activities marking the 2026 FULAA Week celebration.
Represented by the Dean of Students’ Affairs Division, Prof. Abdulrazaq Baba Abdulrahman, the vice-chancellor noted that personnel in the Students’ Affairs Unit occupied strategic position due to their constant interaction with students and their role in maintaining peace and order on campus.

Speaking at the event, the Acting Director of Staff Training and Development, Mrs Becky Kajo, described staff development as a worthwhile investment that enhances service delivery and equips personnel to tackle emerging workplace challenges.
FULAA President, Comrade Arigwaska Musa, commended the University Management for its support, reaffirming the association’s commitment to promoting institutional development through impactful programmes.
