FULafia VC Presents Appointment Letters to New Deputy Vice-Chancellors
The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, has presented appointment letters to the institution’s newly appointed deputy vice-chancellors for academic affairs, administration, and research and partnerships.
During the event, at the vice-chancellor's office, Prof. Abdul Rahman urged the appointees to support and cooperate with the incoming Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Muhammed Isa Kida.
The new deputy vice-chancellors are Prof. Ilemona Adofu (academic affairs), Prof. Aleruchi Chuku (administration), and Prof. Ibrahim Hassan Ogiri (research and partnerships).
Their nominations were earlier approved by the University’s Senate at a Special Senate meeting held on November 5, 2025, and, subsequently ratified by the Governing Council of the University during its 25th Regular Meeting on November 20, 2025.
Their appointment letters, signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Malam Nuradeen Abdu, stated that the appointees would assume office on February 11, 2026.
In his goodwill message, Malam Abdu urged the newly appointed deputy vice-chancellors to work with dedication to advance the University’s goals and uphold the trust placed in them by the institution.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, the incoming Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Aleruchi Chuku, expressed deep appreciation to the vice-chancellor and the University community for the confidence reposed in them.
She said: “We want to say thank you for the trust you have put in us. These offices are a trust in our hands. We assure you that we will put in our best, knowing that as the University prospers, we also prosper.
