FULafia Vice-Chancellor Inspects Hostel Renovations, Urges Students to Maintain Facilities
The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has assured the student body that the ongoing renovation of campus hostels is nearing completion and will soon be ready for occupation for the 2026 academic session.
The assurance followed a comprehensive site inspection at the University’s Permanent Site Campus, where the Vice-Chancellor evaluated the progress of the infrastructure upgrades.
During the inspection, Professor Abdul Rahman engaged with contractors and university technical officials, emphasizing that the administration would not compromise on quality workmanship. He noted that providing a conducive living environment is a top priority for the current management to ensure students can focus on their academic pursuits.
Addressing student leaders following the tour, Professor Abdul Rahman underscored the need for a collaborative approach to facility management. While pledging that the university would take hostel maintenance seriously, he urged students to act as custodians of the infrastructure.
"Management is committed to providing these facilities, but students must complement these efforts by using them judiciously and protecting university property from vandalism or misuse," he stated.
The renovation project is part of a broader administrative strategy to modernize FULafia’s residential facilities and improve the overall campus experience for the 2026 academic year.
