Federal University Lokoja Mourns Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo (AE-FUNAI) Pro-Chancellor Prof. Nimi Dimkpa Briggs. mourns the death of its Second Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Emeritus Professor Nimi Dimkpa Briggs whose death came as a rude shock to the entire University Community when the sad news was announced by the Vice-Chancellor on Monday, April 10, 2023.

The flag of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) is currently flying at half-mast as the University mourns the death of its Second Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Emeritus Professor Nimi Dimkpa Briggs whose death came as a rude shock to the entire University Community when the sad news was announced by the Vice-Chancellor on Monday, April 10, 2023, following the official statement released by the family.

In a statement by the University Public Relations Officer, Mr. Daniel Nwankwo, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi and the entire Management of the University were saddened by the news of the passing of the highly respected University don, describing his death as a colossal loss to Nigeria, the academia, and humanity, in general, considering his immense contributions to education and the medical world.

At an emergency meeting of the Principal Officers Committee (POC) held on Thursday, where a minute's silence was observed in honour of the deceased, the Vice-Chancellor on behalf of the University Management commiserated with the Briggs family and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.
