FULWiA Lauds VC Abdul Rahman’s Women Empowerment Initiatives at Public Lecture on Digital Violence

The Federal University of Lafia Women in Academics (FULWiA) has commended the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, for his deliberate policies and programmes aimed at empowering women and safeguarding the rights of the girl-child.

The commendation was made during an event organised by the FULWiA called Special Public Lecture and Lunch titled “Gender Expectations in Online Interaction and Digital Violence Targeted Against Girls in Secondary Schools in Lafia Metropolis.”

The event was organised in honour of Abdul Rahman and held at the MIS Multipurpose Hall, Permanent Site Campus.

Declaring the event open, the Vice-Chancellor-Designate of FULafia, Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, represented by Prof. Ilemona Adofu, praised Abdul Rahman for ensuring equal opportunities for staff and students, while also acknowledging FULWiA’s contributions to the University’s development.

In her remarks, the President and Convener of FULWiA, Prof. Aleruchi Chuku, represented by Prof. Zara Kwaghe, appreciated the vice-chancellor’s consistent support for women's advancement.

Responding, Abdul Rahman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to women’s dignity, safety and inclusion, highlighting the contributions made by women for the success of the University.

The event featured lectures, gift presentations and the attendance of notable dignitaries.
