FUNAAB Agricultural Media Resources and Extension Centre Kicks Off 2026 with New Year Prayer
The Agricultural Media Resources and Extension Centre (AMREC) at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), began the New Year with a dedicated prayer session for the Centre and the wider University community.

In his opening remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olusegun Idowu, commended AMREC for maintaining the annual New Year prayer tradition. He described prayer as the “master key” and urged staff to remain steadfast in thanksgiving and personal supplications, emphasizing that gratitude opens doors to unexpected opportunities. Prof. Kehinde also encouraged staff to uphold professionalism, integrity, unity, and diligence in their daily duties, praying that 2026 would bring renewed vision, productivity, and meaningful impact for AMREC and the University.
Delivering his goodwill message, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Olawale Dairo, highlighted AMREC’s vital role in bridging research and rural communities. He urged staff to maintain professionalism, discipline, and teamwork, while serving as positive ambassadors of FUNAAB.
The Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi, reminded attendees of the importance of gratitude and good character, stressing that consistent praise attracts blessings. He also encouraged staff to promote peace on campus and to prioritize spiritual well-being.

Earlier, Prof. Jacob Olaoye, Director of AMREC, thanked the University Management for its support and acknowledged the dedication of AMREC staff. He emphasized the importance of divine protection, especially during field extension visits, and reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to advancing its mandate.
The programme concluded with prayers for the Vice-Chancellor, University Management, AMREC leadership, and staff, reinforcing a spirit of faith, unity, and commitment as FUNAAB embarks on the new year.
