FUNAAB Holds Maiden Matriculation Ceremony for FUNAAB‑OYSCATECH Degree Programmes

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) — in affiliation with the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igboora — successfully hosted the inaugural matriculation ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic session on 28 November 2025. The historic event marked the formal induction of the pioneer cohort of students into the FUNAAB‑OYSCATECH Degree Programmes.

In his address, FUNAAB Vice‑Chancellor Professor Babatunde Kehinde congratulated the freshmen, emphasizing that matriculation is a rite of passage symbolising the start of a transformative academic journey enriched with learning, innovation and personal growth. Represented by the outgoing Deputy Vice‑Chancellor (Academic) — now Vice‑Chancellor of Aletheia University, Ago‑Iwoye — Professor Olukayode Akinyemi, he reaffirmed FUNAAB’s commitment to academic excellence, global relevance and nurturing integrity, creativity and leadership among students. He thanked parents and guardians for their trust and assured them of a supportive educational environment.

Professor Kehinde also acknowledged the collaboration with OYSCATECH’s management, including Rector Professor Akinola Akinlabi and other principal officers, for their dedication to the partnership’s success. He urged the newly matriculated students to approach the opportunities ahead with determination, focus and discipline.

The matriculation ceremony was conducted by University Registrar Dr. Titus Adeniyi and concluded with celebrations by students, families and staff, marking a memorable beginning for the first cohort of the FUNAAB‑OYSCATECH Degree Programmes.
