The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has called on University Administrators to fully embrace Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools to enhance efficiency, transparency, and innovation in service delivery.

The charge was delivered by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, during the 2025 ANUPA Day and Presentation of Meritorious Awards organised by the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), FUNAAB Chapter.

With the theme, “Leveraging ICT for Effective Administration: Emerging Trends and Practices,” the event celebrated administrative excellence and honoured outstanding members of the Association for their exceptional service.

Prof. Kehinde commended ANUPA members for their dedication and contribution to the smooth running of the University, urging them to continually upgrade their skills and align with global best practices to remain relevant in today’s digital world.

The Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi, represented by the Head, SERVICOM Unit, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu, commended ANUPA for recognising its retirees while alive, describing the gesture as one that fosters motivation and a culture of appreciation. He also encouraged members to uphold professionalism and integrity in all administrative duties.

Chairman of ANUPA, FUNAAB Chapter, Mr. Adewale Ojoye, highlighted the vital role of Administrators in maintaining the University’s reputation and ensuring effective governance.

Delivering the keynote address, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology Services (DICTS), Mr. Oluwatoyin Akinola, underscored the importance of ICT-driven administrative tools in promoting accountability, efficiency, and innovation within the University system.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of Meritorious Awards to distinguished Administrators, including former Ag. Registrar of FUNAAB, Dr. Linda Owunka; former Registrar, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, Mr. Peter Akinlabi; Mr. Aderemi Adebayo; Mrs. Olufunke Elemo; Mr. Bola Ijaodola; and Alhaji Kasali Adenekan.

Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Dr. Owunka, who is also the Pioneer Registrar of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Delta State, expressed appreciation to the University Management and ANUPA leadership for the honour, pledging continued dedication to service and excellence.

The ceremony featured the presentation of awards and a celebration of administrative professionalism, teamwork, and dedication within the University community.
