The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, has announced a long-term strategic plan to transform the institution into a digitally driven, entrepreneurially focused and globally connected university over the next 25 years.

The university also disclosed plans to strengthen its financial sustainability through diversified revenue streams, including endowments, alumni contributions, public–private partnerships, and competitive research grants.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Ado-Ekiti, the Public Relations Officer of the university, Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede, said the resolutions were reached at a two-day Governing Council–Management Strategic Retreat held in Lagos.

According to the statement, the retreat was themed “FUOYE Beyond Today: Strategic Alignment, Governance, Partnerships and Financial Sustainability for the Next 25 Years (2025–2050).” It brought together members of the Governing Council and top management to align on the university’s long-term direction.

He added that the university would deliberately pursue a transition toward digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and global engagement, in line with the vision outlined in its newly articulated strategic plan.

The retreat, according to the university, marks a critical step in aligning governance, partnerships, and financial strategy to support FUOYE’s long-term institutional growth and relevance in the global higher education landscape.
