The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) has commenced the sale of application forms for admission into its postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) has commenced the sale of application forms for admission into its postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The programmes lead to the award of Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master’s degree, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in the College of Science, College of Engineering and Technology, and College of Computing.
Admission Requirements
College of Science and College of Computing
- Five credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, and three other relevant science subjects at O’level.
- PGD: Minimum of Third Class (Hons) degree or Upper Credit at HND.
- Master’s: Minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) in the relevant field from a recognised university. Applicants for Environmental Management and Toxicology must have at least 3.00 CGPA in relevant disciplines.
- Ph.D: Minimum CGPA of 3.50 or 60% weighted average in Master’s degree.

College of Engineering and Technology
- PGD: Minimum of Third Class (Hons) degree or Upper Credit at HND. Lower Credit holders with at least five years relevant experience may be considered.
- Master’s: Minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) in the relevant field from a recognised university.
- Ph.D: Minimum CGPA of 3.50 or 60% weighted average in Master’s degree.
General Requirements
- NYSC discharge/exemption/exclusion certificate is mandatory.
- Candidates must request transcripts from their previous institutions to be sent to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies (pg.secretary@fupre.edu.ng) within six weeks of this publication.
- Referees must complete and forward referee forms to the Secretary via the same email.
- Applications without transcripts or referee reports will not be processed.
