Savannah Institute of Technology Holds Maiden Matriculation Ceremony
The Savannah Institute of Technology, Abakaliki, an affiliate of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, has conducted its first matriculation ceremony.
The Savannah Institute of Technology, Abakaliki, an affiliate of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, has conducted its first matriculation ceremony.
The ceremony ushered in 47 students into various academic departments across three faculties: Management Sciences, Social Sciences, and Physical Sciences.

Speaking at the event, AE-FUNAI Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sunday Elom, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Romanus Ejiaga, described the occasion as a milestone following the recent memorandum of understanding between the university and the institute, duly approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC). He stressed that the partnership was designed to enhance academic quality, broaden access to higher education, and ensure programmes remain relevant to national development needs.

He assured that in line with NUC and JAMB guidelines, all admitted students met the university’s entry requirements. The Vice-Chancellor urged the new students to embrace AE-FUNAI’s culture of seriousness, uphold its core values of excellence, integrity, and entrepreneurship, and comply with the institution’s rules and regulations to ensure a smooth academic journey.

The Director of the Savannah Institute of Technology, Dr. Kenneth Uwah, thanked the AE-FUNAI management for their support and pledged the institute’s commitment to maintaining world-class standards. He promised continued collaboration with the university to ensure graduates are equipped to compete globally, adding that the institute aims to distinguish itself through quality teaching, learning, and professionalism.
