FUT Babura Releases Approved 2025/2026 Academic Calendar

The management of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Babura, Jigawa State, has officially released the approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session, detailing all major academic activities for both first and second semesters.

The calendar was issued through the Office of the Registrar.

According to the approved schedule, the new academic session will commence on Monday, November 24, 2025, with payment of registration fees for returning students and acceptance fees for newly admitted students.

FIRST SEMESTER ACTIVITIES

Key academic activities for the first semester are scheduled as follows:

• November 24–28, 2025 – Payment of registration and acceptance fees

• December 29, 2025 – January 4, 2026 – Late registration for fresh and returning students

• January 5 – April 4, 2026 – First semester lectures

• February 3, 2026 – Matriculation ceremony for fresh students

• February 4–5, 2026 – Orientation for fresh students

• April 6–11, 2026 – Revision week

• April 13–25, 2026 – First semester examinations

• April 27, 2026 – Meeting on examination misconduct cases

• April 27 – May 17, 2026 – First semester break

Other first semester administrative activities include:

• April 27 – May 10, 2026 – Marking of examinations

• May 11–16, 2026 – Departmental and School Board meetings

• May 19–20, 2026 – Senate Business Committee meeting

• June 3, 2026 – Senate meeting for consideration of results

SECOND SEMESTER ACTIVITIES

Academic and administrative activities for the second semester have been scheduled as follows:

• June 1 – August 16, 2026 – Second semester lectures

• August 17–22, 2026 – Revision

• August 24 – September 5, 2026 – Second semester examinations

• September 7, 2026 – Meeting on examination misconduct

• September 7 – November 15, 2026 – End-of-session break

• September 14 – December 13, 2026 – SIWES for 300-level students

Other second semester administrative activities include:

• September 7–20, 2026 – Marking of examinations

• September 21–26, 2026 – Departmental and School Board meetings

• September 30, 2026 – Senate Business Committee meeting

• October 7, 2026 – Senate meeting

• October 12 – November 15, 2026 – Annual leave for academic staff

• November 16, 2026 – Commencement of the 2026/2027 academic session

The University management also stated that all public holidays will be observed in line with Federal and State Government declarations.
