The Provost of De Potter College of Health Technology, Oru-Ijebu, Ogun State, Dr. Oluwaseyi Adeware, has charged graduating students of the institution to uphold integrity, empathy and professionalism as they begin their careers in the health sector.
Dr. Adeware gave the charge on Friday during the combined graduation ceremony of 422 students for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions, held at the college campus in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
At the ceremony, Ruth Adesida, who recorded a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.99, emerged as the overall best graduating student for the 2023/2024 academic session, while Abigail Odulana, with a CGPA of 3.95, was named the overall best graduating student for the 2024/2025 session.
Addressing the graduands, the Provost admonished them to become worthy ambassadors of the institution by sustaining the high standards of training, discipline and ethical values instilled in them during their academic journey.
He described the graduation as both an end and a new beginning, urging the students to see their certificates not merely as academic documents but as a lifelong responsibility to serve humanity with diligence and honour.
Dr. Adeware charged the graduates to demonstrate excellence in every health facility they find themselves, whether in hospital wards, primary healthcare centres or within communities, stressing the importance of discipline, compassion, humility and continuous self-development.
He further reminded them that professional growth demands the ability to learn, unlearn and relearn in a constantly evolving health sector.
