Federal University Dutse Issues Fraud Alert Over Impersonation of Vice-Chancellor-Designate

The Management of the Federal University Dutse (FUD) has issued an urgent public disclaimer following the discovery of a fraudulent Facebook account impersonating the institution's Vice-Chancellor-designate, Professor Ahmad Muhammed Gumel.

The university leadership alerted students, staff, and the general public to the existence of the fake profile, which has been used by unknown individuals to circulate unauthorized information and potentially solicit fraudulent favors.

In a statement released to address the security threat, the university management emphasized that Professor Gumel does not operate the account in question and has not authorized any person or group to act on his behalf through that platform.

"This development highlights the ongoing challenge of digital impersonation and the necessity for extreme vigilance among our stakeholders," a university spokesperson noted. The management further warned that engaging with the fraudulent page could lead to financial loss or the compromise of personal data.
