Kaduna State Commences N40m Scholarship Disbursement to KASU Students; Expands Program to Kaduna Polytechnic

The Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board (KADSSLB) has officially kicked off its 2025/2026 disbursement cycle, releasing N40 million to support over 1,500 students at Kaduna State University (KASU).

The funding, which was increased from an initial N30 million to accommodate a higher volume of eligible applicants, is part of a special intervention by the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, aimed at reducing the financial burden on students and their families.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Professor Yahya Saleh Ibrahim, announced that the state’s support framework is expanding. In a significant policy shift, students of Kaduna Polytechnic will now be formally included in the scholarship program, ensuring a more inclusive distribution of academic aid across the state’s leading tertiary institutions.

Start-up Capital: Up to N1.5 million for graduates who have completed vocational and entrepreneurial training.

Grace Period: A two-year moratorium on repayments after the business is established.

Target: Empowering youth to transition from job seekers to job creators.
