Federal Polytechnic Oko Receives 104 Ultra-Modern Student Hostels

The two hostels, one for male students and the other for female students, boast a combined capacity to house 104 students. They are part of the TETFund's special intervention projects for the year 2020, with the primary goal of bridging the accommodation gap that many students at Federal Polytechnic, Oko, have been grappling with. The handover of these hostels to the polytechnic management marks a significant milestone for the institution and its students. Engr. Dr. Francisca Nwafulugo, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, emphasized the transformative impact these well-furnished hostels will have on the student body. The new facilities are expected to alleviate accommodation challenges, providing students with an opportunity to focus on their academic pursuits. Additionally, these modern hostels are designed to create a serene and stress-free living environment conducive to learning.

The successful execution of this project owes much to the contractors, Consolidated Shelter Services Nigeria Limited and Snoufcof Company Limited, who have demonstrated ingenuity and dedication throughout the construction process. Arc. Aloysius Adindu Nwalozie, the project consultant, was also recognized for ensuring the projects were executed to high standards. Engr. Dr. Nwafulugo shared that the two hostels would be among the projects set to be officially commissioned by the Honourable Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman. This underscores the commitment of the Federal Government to promoting quality education in the institution, and these new hostels will undoubtedly enhance the overall student experience.
