FUTA Alumni Association Visits McPherson University Vice-Chancellor, Commends His Leadership

The National President of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Alumni Association, Engr. Adeyemi Bello, has lauded the Vice-Chancellor of McPherson University, Professor Francis Igbasan, for his outstanding leadership and visible achievements at the institution.

The National President of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Alumni Association, Engr. Adeyemi Bello, has lauded the Vice-Chancellor of McPherson University, Professor Francis Igbasan, for his outstanding leadership and visible achievements at the institution.

Engr. Bello, who led a delegation of the FUTA Alumni Association on a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, expressed admiration for the rapid growth and infrastructural development witnessed at McPherson University, saying: “How are you achieving all this without TETFund intervention? I’m not surprised—he is giving everybody the space to grow.”

The visiting delegation included Mrs. Ola Salawu, Prof. Ola Salawu, and Engr. Dr. Oladimeji S. T., all prominent members of the association. The visit aimed to strengthen academic and professional collaborations while celebrating the achievements of one of their own in university leadership.

Professor Igbasan, a proud alumnus of FUTA, received the visitors warmly and led them on a tour of the University’s facilities. The meeting also offered a moment of reunion with his former student, Prof. Ola Salawu, now a respected academic, alongside his wife, Mrs. Salawu.

Engr. Bello, speaking on behalf of the association, commended Professor Igbasan’s visionary administration and the remarkable progress made under his leadership, describing him as “a builder who inspires excellence and growth.” He conveyed the goodwill of the global FUTA Alumni community and pledged continued support for his endeavours.

In his response, Professor Igbasan expressed deep appreciation to the delegation and reflected on his enduring connection with his alma mater. “Since 1983 when I joined and graduated in 1988, FUTA has been my home. Anytime I see products of FUTA, I am proud—this is the place that made me,” he said.

He further acknowledged the unwavering support of the Foursquare Gospel Church, proprietors of McPherson University, noting that the institution’s achievements were made possible through divine grace and institutional backing. “The Church believes in this administration and has been supportive. Whatever we have achieved here today is by the grace of God,” he added.
