FUTA Alumni Diaspora Group Awards Scholarships to Outstanding 100-Level Students

The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), on Tuesday, 9th December 2025, celebrated academic excellence as the FUTA Alumni Association in Diaspora awarded scholarships to the best-performing 100-level students across all schools in the University for the 2023/2024 academic session.

The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), on Tuesday, 9th December 2025, celebrated academic excellence as the FUTA Alumni Association in Diaspora awarded scholarships to the best-performing 100-level students across all schools in the University for the 2023/2024 academic session.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Professor Adenike Oladiji urged students to continually strive for excellence, noting that rewards follow hard work. She commended the Alumni Diaspora Group for their generosity, describing the initiative as a demonstration of their enduring commitment to FUTA and the welfare of its students.

Earlier, Professor Philip Oguntunde, Director of the University Advancement Centre, congratulated the recipients and highlighted that the scholarship program was established by the Alumni Diaspora Group to recognize and motivate outstanding 100-level students. He encouraged other FUTA Alumni branches worldwide to emulate the initiative, emphasizing that it showcases the alumni’s role in giving back and positively impacting students’ lives.

Mrs. Yewande Arogundade, representative of the Alumni Diaspora Group, expressed gratitude to the University management for facilitating the program and encouraged the awardees to maintain their academic excellence. On behalf of the recipients, Ayeni Olaitan thanked the group and management, promising to uphold the standards expected of them.

The ten scholarship recipients are: Olorunfemi Gloria, Kukuru Temoweikuro, Afunso Ayatullah, Ayeni Peter, Oguntunde Moyinoluwa, Ajagbe Oluwatobiloba, Adeyemo Eriola, Abdulrahman Kahlid, Adetunji Olumide, and Opayinka Oluwatobiloba.
