FUTA Appoints Professor Vincent Ajayi as Director, Advancement Centre

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Professor Adenike Oladiji, has approved the appointment of Professor Vincent Ajayi of the Department of Meteorology and Climate Sciences as Director of the University’s Advancement Centre.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Professor Adenike Oladiji, has approved the appointment of Professor Vincent Ajayi of the Department of Meteorology and Climate Sciences as Director of the University’s Advancement Centre.

The appointment, made on behalf of the University Management, takes effect from April 1, 2026, for an initial term of two years.

Professor Ajayi, who previously served as Head of the Department of Meteorology and Climate Science, will oversee the day-to-day administration of the Advancement Centre. His responsibilities include the design and implementation of programmes and initiatives aligned with the university’s strategic vision and institutional priorities.

In a statement announcing the appointment, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated Professor Ajayi and urged him to provide effective leadership by drawing on his academic and administrative experience. She encouraged him to lead by example, mentor staff, and strengthen the operational efficiency of the Centre.

Professor Oladiji further charged the new Director to discharge his duties with commitment, discipline, and dedication, while working closely with university management to foster unity, institutional progress, and sustained academic excellence.

She noted that the position confers membership of the University Management, with the attendant responsibility of supporting policies that promote peace, harmony, and the continued development of the institution.
