FUTMINNA Alumni Abuja Chapter Donates Beds and Equipment to University Clinic

The Abuja Chapter of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) Alumni has made a significant contribution to the University Clinic by donating ten beds, ten mattresses, ten pillows, and ten bedside lockers. The donation was officially presented on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at a ceremony held in the Vice-Chancellor's Conference Room.

In attendance were the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Engr. Prof. Mohammed Abdullahi, Acting Registrar Mrs. Azumi Ndayako, University Librarian Prof. Saka Katamba, and other key university officials. Prof. Kuta expressed his deep gratitude to the alumni, highlighting the vital role alumni play in the growth of the university. He encouraged the alumni to continue supporting FUTMINNA and proudly representing the institution, especially as it was recently ranked the 8th best university in Nigeria. He also shared his ambition to further improve FUTMINNA's ranking in the country.

Engr. Dr. Elizabeth Eterigho, Deputy Director of the Advancement and Development Office (ADO), led the visiting team, representing the Director. She emphasized that this donation reflects the Abuja Chapter’s commitment to giving back to their alma mater.

Mrs. Hajarah O. Abdulkadir, Chairperson of the Abuja Chapter, noted that the donation was funded through proceeds from a magazine launched earlier this year and reassured that such initiatives will continue. The Niger Chapter, represented by Dr. Bashir Ganiyu, also commended the Abuja Chapter's efforts and called for continued contributions from alumni across various chapters.

Dr. Fatima Halilu, Director of University Health Services, expressed her gratitude in her vote of thanks and assured that the donated items would enhance the clinic's services. The event concluded with the official handover of the items to Prof. Kuta.
