FUTMinna Enforces New National Policy: NERD Clearance Now Mandatory for NYSC Mobilization

The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna), has notified its graduating students of a new federal mandate requiring Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD) clearance for all National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilization processes.

Effective from the upcoming 2026 Batch "A", only graduates possessing the official NERD clearance slip will be processed for NYSC.

This policy was introduced by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to streamline academic data management nationwide. The University, through its Students' Affairs division, released official procedures for compliance on January 14, 2026.

Procedure for Obtaining Clearance

Graduating students must complete an online registration and thesis/project upload process via the official NERD portals. The required steps are as follows:

Visit the NERD portal at https://ned.gov.ng/onboarding or https://estmat.ned.gov.ng/al/enrot-v2.php.

Click on "preliminary upload for thesis/project".

Prepare and upload necessary documentation, including:

A functional e-mail address.

A soft copy of the Thesis/Project document.

Certificate/Statement of Result/Letter of Attestation (upload certificate or statement of result when requested for an attestation letter).

A recent passport photograph.

NIN Number/Slip.

Verification and Final Slip

After the preliminary details are submitted, the information will undergo a verification process. Following successful verification, the official link for the final thesis/project upload will be sent to the student.

It is critical that every graduate obtains and secures their official NERD Clearance Slip upon successful completion of the entire upload process.
