GOMSN and ATBUMSA Host Successful Basic Life Support Training
The Global Medical Students Network (GOMSN), in collaboration with the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Medical Students Association (ATBUMSA) and the National Association of Science Students (NASS), ATBU Chapter, recently held a Basic Life Support (BLS) and Emergency Response Training.
The event, themed "Save A Life," took place on August 23, 2025, at the College of Medicine, ATBU Gubi Campus, Bauchi State.
The training session was facilitated by experienced doctors from the Department of Anaesthesia, ATBU Teaching Hospital. Participants received comprehensive instruction on basic life support procedures and emergency response techniques, including CPR and other critical interventions. The training included practical demonstrations and hands-on experience, allowing participants to develop essential skills in handling emergency situations.
The event provided over 60 participants with vital skills and knowledge, empowering them to act confidently and effectively in emergency situations. The training marked an important step in GOMSN's mission to build a global community of empowered medical students.
The event fostered collaboration and strengthened bonds among students from different faculties. The success of the training demonstrates the importance of partnerships between medical student organizations and highlights the potential for future initiatives.
