Gov. Abba Appoints FUEZ VC Prof. Bunkure to Committee for Take-off of Federal Polytechnic, Rano

The Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has appointed the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, FUEZ, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, Makaman Rano, as a member of the committee to oversee the seamless take-off of the newly established Federal Polytechnic, Rano.

The 13-member committee was inaugurated on Thursday, 10th September 2026, by the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, on behalf of the Governor.  

Prof. Shehu Aliyu Rano chairs the committee, which has been given three weeks to ensure the smooth commencement of academic and administrative activities at the institution.

Reacting to the appointment, Prof. Bunkure expressed appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the opportunity to serve, describing it as both an honour and an important responsibility.

He described the assignment as "epoch-making, not only for the people of Rano, but also for Kano State, the North-⁰⁰00lĺĺWest and Nigeria at large."

Prof. Bunkure further pledged his commitment to contributing to the successful completion of the committee’s mandate within the stipulated three-week period.
