GSU Muslim Ummah Hosts 19th Ramadan Public Lecture; Sheikh Daurawa Urges Youth to Lead Social Change
The Muslim Ummah of Gombe State University has held its 19th Ramadan Public Lecture, focusing on the theme “The Role of Youth in Building an Educated and Secure Society.”
The lecture took place today, 8th March 2026, corresponding with the 19th day of Ramadan, 1447 AH, and attracted members of the University community, Islamic scholars, students, and invited guests.
The programme commenced with opening remarks delivered by Professor Dahiru Inuwa Ibrahim, who welcomed participants and highlighted the significance of the Ramadan lecture series as a platform for spiritual reflection, intellectual engagement, and moral guidance.
The highlight of the event was the lecture delivered by Sheikh Ibrahim Aminu Daurawa, who emphasized that young people remain the most powerful drivers of positive change in any society.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of Gombe State University, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, commended the Muslim Ummah for organizing what he described as a timely and impactful lecture, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the importance of youth development through education and moral guidance, stating that universities play a crucial role in shaping responsible citizens who can contribute meaningfully to national development and social stability.
In his closing remarks, the Amir of the Muslim Ummah of Gombe State University, Professor Usman Bala, expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, the guest lecturer, members of the University management, invited guests, staff, and students for honouring the invitation and contributing to the success of the programme.
