IBBUL Vice-Chancellor Lauds NSUK’s Convocation Standards, Celebrates Niger State Scholars

The Vice-Chancellor of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Professor Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman, has praised the high standard of academic excellence displayed at the 8th Combined Convocation and Silver Jubilee of Nasarawa State University.

Professor Sulaiman, who attended the ceremony as an invited guest, paid special tribute to scholars from Niger State and IBB University. 

He expressed strong support for them, noting that their accomplishments reflect discipline, perseverance, and a deep commitment to academic growth.

Presenting a goodwill message, the Vice-Chancellor commended the graduates for their continued pursuit of knowledge and urged staff of IBB University to draw inspiration from such dedication. 

He emphasized that sustained learning and academic advancement remains critical to institutional development and national progress.

The convocation ceremony saw Nasarawa State University graduated 32,884 students; including 1,677 PhD recipients, 8,169 Master’s degree holders, 2,809 Postgraduate Diploma graduates, and 20,229 first-degree graduates, with 82 earning first-class honours. 

The ceremony also saw NSUK confer honorary doctorate degrees on two distinguished figures: Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, and Nigerian entrepreneur Mahmood Ahmadu, in recognition of their contributions to public service and development.

A former Bursar of IBB University, Malam Abdul Garba was one of the PhD graduates.
