The Igbobi College Old Boys’ Association has said it will raise a sum of N1b to improve the infrastructure at their alma mater.

The president of ICOBA, Olumuyiwa Kinoshi, said this at the choral evening organised in remembrance of the former Military Administrator of Lagos State, late Air Commodore Gbolahan Mudashiru.

Kinoshi described Mudashiru as a distinguished noble Nigerian of ICOBA, 1963/1965, saying he laid a good foundation and structure for Lagos State during his tenure upon which successive governments had been building upon.

Kinoshi said, “I am happy today that this event is being watched across the globe by our members in diaspora. One thing that the late Mudashiru did right was that he started what we can call the rolling plans for Lagos State and brought in all his classmates who were surgeons and doctors from the diaspora to beef up his cabinet and that is the reason Lagos State is the best run State in Nigeria, which he started during the military era.”

A member of ICOBA, Rt. Rev. Oluranti Odubodun, lamented the state of education in Nigeria today as he indicted the government for doing a disservice to education.
