Ignatius Ajuru University Pro-Chancellor Appointed Chair at International Public Policy Conference in Canada
Dr. Chinyere Igwe, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rumuorlumeni, Port Harcourt, has been appointed Chair of the Comparative Public Policy session at the International World Public Policy Conference, scheduled to hold in Ottawa, Canada, in 2026.

Dr. Chinyere Igwe, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rumuorlumeni, Port Harcourt, has been appointed Chair of the Comparative Public Policy session at the International World Public Policy Conference, scheduled to hold in Ottawa, Canada, in 2026.
Dr. Igwe earned the position following the selection of his scholarly paper titled “National Legacies and Global Policies Adoption”, which outperformed other submissions in the Comparative Public Policy category globally. His leadership at the session will guide workshops and international discussions among top public policy scholars.
According to Phillipe Zittoun, Secretary-General of the International World Public Policy Association, “for this year’s call for workshops, we received 79 proposals, making the selection process particularly competitive. After careful review by the International Scientific Committee, your proposal has been accepted, and you are appointed Chair of this session on Comparative Public Policy.”
Dr. Igwe is known for his transformative leadership at IAUE, where he drives strategic policies to position the university as an institution of choice. Beyond academia, he chairs Maurison Media Group, which operates Wish FM 99.5 PH, Atlantic Television Network, and Maurison Media Academy.
An accomplished scholar, Dr. Igwe has authored over 70 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals. He holds a PhD in Policy and Administration and is a Fellow of multiple professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Management, National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, Institute of Strategic Management, and Institute of Management Consultancy. He is also a registered practitioner in advertising and a member of the Nigeria Bar Association and International Bar Association.
Dr. Igwe’s public service record is extensive, having served as a member of the House of Representatives, Commissioner of Urban Development & Physical Planning, Commissioner for Energy & Natural Resources in Rivers State, and Mayor/Chairman of Port Harcourt City, among other offices.
His appointment marks a significant recognition of Nigerian scholarship on the global public policy stage.
