A 300-level Law student of Oba Erediauwa College of Law, Igbinedion University, Okada (IUO), Osaze Cole, has secured a Top 3 position at the Red Bull Basement Nigeria 2026 National Final.

Cole, who also serves as Director of Community Service in the University’s Student Representative Council, achieved the feat after a highly competitive selection process that attracted over 3,000 applications from student innovators and young founders across the country.

The national final, held on April 5, 2026, in Lagos, featured five finalists who presented their innovations before a panel of judges drawn from Nigeria’s technology, innovation, and business ecosystem.

Cole’s project, Mercoracle, is an export-tech platform designed to support smallholder farmers by providing direct access to global markets. The solution addresses key challenges in agricultural exports, including complex international compliance procedures, documentation processes, and trade barriers.

According to the proposal, the innovation is designed to increase farmers’ income, enhance non-oil export potential, and strengthen Nigeria’s participation in global agricultural trade.
