Kano State Head of Service Commends Yusuf Maitama Sule University’s Progress During Unannounced Visit

Despite the heavy downpour that marked this Friday morning,16 August 2024, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa, the Head of Service Kano State, made an unexpected courtesy visit to Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano, beginning his tour at the Senate Chamber.

His visit show his keen interest in assessing the developments within the institution under the leadership of Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa.

Upon arrival at the Senate Chamber, Alhaji Musa was shown the ongoing modernization efforts that have transformed the chamber into a more contemporary and functional space. He expressed his satisfaction with the improvements, noting that such advancements reflect the university's commitment to excellence.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, accompanied by the University Registrar, Adm. Isyaku Adamu, then provided a comprehensive tour of the campus, highlighting the ongoing construction and recent developments.

One of the key stops on the tour was the under-construction Faculty of Science building located on the main campus. Here, the Head of Service observed the significant strides made in the development of this key academic facility. Alhaji Musa was then taken to the newly inaugurated Center for Entrepreneurship Development, housed within the same building.

At the Center for Entrepreneurship Development, the Head of Service was particularly impressed by the students' hands-on involvement in tailoring and catering services. He commended their efforts and suggested that the center leverage its facilities to become a profit-generating unit for the university.

The visit also included a stop at the university’s printing press, where Alhaji Musa appreciated both the quality of work being produced and the advanced machinery available. He encouraged the staff to continue their hard work, emphasizing that their dedication plays a critical role in enhancing the university’s reputation in the printing industry.

Concluding his visit, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa praised the Vice Chancellor’s commitment to the university’s growth, attributing the institution’s numerous achievements to the Vice Chancellor’s leadership and the collaborative efforts of his team. He offered prayers for the continued betterment of the university and encouraged the administration to keep striving for excellence.

This visit, despite the adverse weather conditions, emphasize the importance of the ongoing developments at Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano and the commitment of its leadership to encouraging academic excellence and institutional growth.
