Kano State Polytechnic Relocates Library Services Following Central Library Fire Outbreak

The Management of Kano State Polytechnic has announced the temporary relocation of its library services following a recent fire outbreak that affected the institution's Central Library.

The affected facility also functions as the Unit Library for the School of Management Studies (SMS). According to an official circular dated May 15, 2026, and signed by the Polytechnic Librarian, Gazzali Saleh Muhammad CLN, contingency plans have been activated to ensure uninterrupted library and research services for staff and students while restoration work commences.

To maintain academic continuity, the Library Management has decentralized its physical and digital operations across specific alternative hubs on campus.

Core library collections and reference services have been moved to designated departmental libraries within the School of Management Studies (SMS) located at the Lighter Level.

Access to all electronic information databases, online journals, and digital library systems has been fully routed to the Wada Tafida E-Library.

The Polytechnic Librarian assured the institutional community that concerted administrative efforts are actively underway to restore, strengthen, and improve the facility’s operations.

Students, researchers, and faculty members are advised to utilize these designated temporary service points for their immediate academic needs. The management expressed gratitude to the polytechnic community for its patience, cooperation, and understanding during the infrastructure recovery period.
