Kashim Ibrahim University Announces Temporary Closure Starting March 6

The Management of Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU) has officially announced a temporary closure of the institution, effective from Friday, March 6, 2026.

The directive, contained in a circular released by the Office of the Registrar on Thursday, February 19, 2026, stated that the Vice-Chancellor approved the recess, which is scheduled to run until March 22, 2026.

According to the memo signed by the Acting Director of Human Resources, Aishatu A. Chiroma (Mrs.), the closure applies to both academic and non-teaching staff. However, the university clarified that essential services remain exempt from this directive.

Security Personnel: Will remain on duty to ensure the safety of university property and the campus environment.

Essential Services: Designated staff in critical units are expected to continue their duties as required.

The announcement has been formally communicated to all principal officers, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Bursar, University Librarian, Deans, and Directors.

Students and staff are advised to take note of the dates and await further instructions regarding the resumption of full academic activities on Monday, March 23, 2026.
