Khairun Hosts Resource Persons for Mock Nuc Accreditation Exercise Ahead of Programme Accreditation

Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, KHAIRUN, Kano, on Monday, 27th July, 2026, hosted a team of distinguished resource persons for a comprehensive mock accreditation exercise as part of its preparations for the forthcoming National Universities Commission, NUC, accreditation.

The exercise was organised to assess the University's level of preparedness and ensure full compliance with NUC accreditation requirements.

The mock accreditation covered eight academic programmes across three faculties. From the Faculty of Science and Computing: Biochemistry, BCH, Industrial Chemistry, ICH, and Microbiology, MCB. From the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences: Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science, and Radiography. From the Faculty of Engineering: Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering.

During the exercise, the resource persons undertook a thorough assessment of the selected programmes by inspecting physical facilities, laboratories, libraries, instructional resources, and relevant academic documentation. They also interacted with the respective faculties and departments, highlighting areas of strength and providing constructive observations and recommendations aimed at enhancing the University's readiness.

Speaking at the end of the exercise, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, expressed appreciation to the resource persons for their professionalism, commitment, and contributions to the University's quality assurance efforts. He noted that their observations would serve as a guide in strengthening preparations.

Professor Garba reaffirmed the commitment of the University Management to maintaining the highest academic standards and assured the team that all observations and recommendations would receive prompt attention to ensure full compliance with NUC requirements.

The Vice-Chancellor further reiterated KHAIRUN's commitment to academic excellence, continuous improvement, and the provision of a conducive learning environment that meets national and global best practices.

The resource persons were accompanied throughout the exercise by the Deans and Heads of Departments of the respective faculties. Also in attendance were the Director of Academic Planning and the Director of the General Studies Unit.

The successful conduct of the mock accreditation exercise underscores KHAIRUN's proactive approach to quality assurance and its determination to sustain excellence in teaching, research, and community service ahead of the forthcoming NUC accreditation exercise.
