Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University Inaugurates Strategic Committees to Strengthen Governance and Service Delivery

Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN) has taken a significant step toward strengthening institutional governance and operational efficiency with the inauguration of several strategic committees during a Principal Officers’ Meeting held at the university.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, presided over the inauguration, which he described as part of a broader reform agenda aimed at enhancing accountability, efficiency, and sustained academic excellence across the institution.

The newly constituted committees include the Student Academic Forum (SAF) Committee chaired by Professor Salisu Mamman Abdulrahman, the Laboratory Maintenance Committee chaired by Usman Abubakar Aliyu, the Facility Management Committee chaired by Musa Mu’awiya Musa, and the Sports Committee chaired by Yusuf Muhammad.

Professor Garba outlined the Terms of Reference for each committee, stressing their strategic importance in advancing the university’s academic and administrative objectives. He urged members to demonstrate commitment, collaboration, and discipline in the discharge of their responsibilities, noting that effective teamwork would be critical to achieving institutional goals.

He emphasized that the committees are expected to play key roles in improving student engagement, strengthening laboratory and facility management systems, promoting sports development, and contributing to the overall growth and competitiveness of the university.

In their separate responses, the committee chairpersons expressed appreciation to the university management for the confidence placed in them. They pledged to execute their mandates diligently and work collaboratively with members to deliver measurable impact aligned with the institution’s vision.

The inauguration marks another phase in KHAIRUN’s ongoing efforts to institutionalize structured governance systems, promote innovation, and reinforce a culture of continuous improvement across all operational units.

The development is widely viewed as part of the university’s broader strategy to deepen administrative coordination and strengthen internal capacity for sustainable growth.
