Kogi Poly Rector Pledges Deeper Synergy with Education Ministry to Drive Institutional Growth

The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Salihu Sanusi Avidime, has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening institutional collaboration with the Kogi State Ministry of Education to advance academic excellence and sustainable development in the state’s tertiary education sector.

‎Professor Avidime made the pledge on Friday, March 13, 2026, during a courtesy visit to the Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, FCIB, at his office in Lokoja.

‎The Commissioner warmly received the Rector and congratulated him on his appointment, describing it as a perfect decision by His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Governor of Kogi State. 

He noted that Professor Avidime’s distinguished academic pedigree and administrative experience place him in a strong position to further strengthen the reputation and growth of the Polytechnic.

‎Hon. Wemi Jones charged the Rector to preserve and build upon the long-standing values, academic standards, and institutional legacy of the Polytechnic, while providing visionary and purposeful leadership capable of driving innovation, excellence, and sustainable institutional development.

‎He further emphasized the strategic importance of a strong and harmonious relationship between the Polytechnic and the Ministry of Education, assuring the Rector of the Ministry’s full support and unwavering commitment to productive collaboration that will advance the broader goals of educational development in the state.

‎In his address, Professor Avidime expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for the warm reception, goodwill, and exemplary leadership of the Ministry.

He stressed that the development of any nation hinges on the strength of its educational system, usually championed by the Ministry, noting that no institution can thrive without close collaboration with the Ministry, which he described as the mother of the state’s educational sector.

‎The Rector also affirmed his desire to continually draw from the Commissioner’s wealth of administrative experience and guidance, adding that such partnership will be central to advancing the growth and development of Kogi State Polytechnic and enhancing its contributions to the state’s educational landscape.

‎As a closing remark, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Elder Albert Alabi, praised Professor Avidime for his vision and commitment to educational excellence, urging him to pursue even greater exploits that will reposition Kogi State Polytechnic as a leading institution in the country, further assuring the Rector of the Ministry’s continued support and encouragement in achieving these ambitious goals.
