KWASU Alumni Shine on Global Academic Stage with Outstanding International Achievements

Three alumni of Kwara State University (KWASU) have recorded outstanding academic achievements in Sweden and the United States, further demonstrating the university's commitment to excellence and its strong academic foundation.

Ademola Emmanuel Akadiri, a First Class graduate of Mass Communication, recently completed a Master's degree in Political Communication at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. His academic journey was supported by the prestigious Axel Adler Scholarship, which enabled him to study in a highly competitive international environment.

Abdulmalik Adetola Lawal, also a Mass Communication graduate, earned a Master's degree in Media Innovation from the University of Nevada, Reno, USA. During his graduate studies, he amassed ten competitive honours, including three academic distinctions from the university. He was also selected as an Investigative Reporters and Editors Fellow, received the National Association of Science Writers Award and Conference Fellowship, and secured a Graduate Student Association Travel Grant.

Another KWASU alumnus, Habeeb Abdulrauf, graduated with a perfect 4.0 CGPA in his Master of Arts in Communication programme at Western Michigan University, USA. 

As an exceptional scholar, instructor, and researcher, Abdulrauf received several prestigious awards, including the 2026 CSCA Pamela J. Cooper Graduate Teaching Award, Western Michigan University's Outstanding Graduate Student Award, the National Communication Association Outstanding Thesis Award, and the NCA Graduate Student Teaching Award.

Commending the trio, the Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, described their achievements as a source of pride and inspiration for current and prospective students. He noted that the growing record of KWASU graduates excelling globally reflects the quality of education and academic foundation provided by the university.
