KWASU Appoints Professor Abdul Kabir Hussain Solihu as Director of Centre for Research and Development
At KWASU, he has held several key positions, including Director of KWASU Press, Provost of the College of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences, and the pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Arts.
Kwara State University (KWASU) has announced the appointment of Professor Abdul Kabir Hussain Solihu as the new Director of its Centre for Research and Development. Professor Solihu is an expert in Islamic Thought, Comparative Religion, Religion and Ecology, Environmental Ethics, Qur’anic Studies, and Computational Linguistics.
Professor Solihu completed his studies at Al-Azhar University, Cairo, and the International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM). He has an impressive portfolio of authored and co-authored publications and is credited with a commercialized product, the ROTAS Transliteration Kit.
Before joining KWASU in 2016 as a full professor, Professor Solihu was part of the Faculty of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences at IIUM from 2003 to 2016, where he served as the editor of the Web of Science and Scopus-indexed journal, *Intellectual Discourse*. At KWASU, he has held several key positions, including Director of KWASU Press, Provost of the College of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences, and the pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Arts.
As Director of the Centre for Research and Development, Professor Solihu is expected to lead initiatives that further KWASU's commitment to academic excellence and innovative research.
