KWASU Vice-Chancellor Visits KW-GIS to Secure University Land Assets

The Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete, KWASU, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, on Thursday, August 27, 2026, paid a strategic visit to the Executive Chairman of Kwara State Geographic Information System, KW-GIS, Surveyor Sulyman Abdulkareem.

The meeting was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the University and the agency towards securing the land assets of KWASU.

The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by the Director of Physical Planning Unit, Architect Salihu Sulyman; the Director of University Relations, Professor Saeedat Aliyu; Architect Medinat Abdulrahman; and Mallam Isiaka Babatunde.

The Chairman of KW-GIS was joined by the Surveyor General of Kwara State, Haruna Abdullahi; the Director of Physical Planning and Development Control, Abdulhakeem Abdulsalam; and the Director of Deed Registry, Yusuf Nuhu.

Discussions at the meeting focused on proper documentation, surveying and protection of KWASU land holdings to prevent encroachment and ensure the University’s long-term development plans are safeguarded.

Both parties expressed commitment to closer partnership in land administration, spatial planning and geographic information management for the benefit of the University and the state.
