LASU Graduate Okikiola Adewusi Excels with 4.61 CGPA in Mass Communication

Okikiola Adewusi, a recent graduate from Lagos State University (LASU), has completed his studies at the Faculty of Communication & Media Studies with an impressive 4.61 CGPA. Hailing from Ekiti State and raised between Lagos and Ondo, Okikiola’s journey is a testament to his dedication and passion for communication and media.

Okikiola has shared insights into his educational journey and future aspirations. In a recent interview, he revealed that despite nitially considering a career in law, he found his passion for communication and interpersonal relationships while preparing for university. “While preparing for university, I understood a lot about communication and interpersonal relationships. I discovered I know how to articulate words to the extent that when I speak, people passionately listen to me without command,” he explained.

Okikiola remarked that throughout his undergraduate experience, he faced numerous challenges, including financial constraints and interpersonal conflicts. Despite these hurdles, he maintained a stellar academic record and took on leadership roles within his faculty.

Reflecting on his academic journey, Okikiola acknowledged the challenges he faced. "Being self-financed throughout my studies was tough, but it taught me resilience and determination," he shared. Despite obstacles, Okikiola maintained a commitment to academic excellence, consistently tutoring and supporting his peers.

Graduating with a remarkable 4.61 CGPA has been a source of immense pride for Okikiola. While he acknowledges the setbacks he faced during his final year, he remains grateful for the support of he received. "I am grateful for the support of my family, friends, and benefactors who believed in me," Okikiola expressed. He also highlighted receiving a scholarship in 2022 from the VC, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello.

 Looking ahead, Okikiola plans to pursue additional professional certifications in digital marketing, social media marketing, and web design. "As I embark on my career, I aspire to lead marketing teams and drive innovative strategies for brands," Okikiola shared. "Ultimately, I aim to make a significant impact in the business world and continue my academic journey towards a master's and eventually a PhD."
