LASU to Host 117th Inaugural Lecture as Professor Ayotunde Ayodele Explores Language and National Unity

Lagos State University (LASU) has announced that its 117th Inaugural Lecture will be delivered by Professor Ayotunde Olutumbi Ayodele of the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, on Tuesday, 27 January 2026.

Lagos State University (LASU) has announced that its 117th Inaugural Lecture will be delivered by Professor Ayotunde Olutumbi Ayodele of the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, on Tuesday, 27 January 2026.

According to the University, the lecture is titled “In the Multitude of Tongues: Leveraging Language Systems for National Brotherhood,” and will examine the role of language systems in fostering unity, social cohesion, and national integration in a linguistically diverse society like Nigeria.

The inaugural lecture will take place at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos, and is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m., with guests expected to be seated by 1:30 p.m.
